Story
The Nash family are raising money to support Breast Cancer Now, a charity that is very close to our hearts.
Our goal is to raise £5,000, for this incredible charity that has supported us since Lou’s breast cancer diagnosis in 2023. It will go a long way in supporting men and women affected by breast cancer.
In order to raise as much money as possible we are doing as many events as we can. Our 3 year old daughter, Eleanor, has so far raised £300 with her 1km at Heaton Park.
With help from Lou’s amazing work colleagues we have hosted a bake sale at Wythenshawe Hospital and raised a staggering £1000!
The pinnacle to our fundraising is for Lou and I to run the LONDON MARATHON in April 2025 which we are doing a lot of training for and are very excited to be partaking in this bucket list event.
Raising this money is very important to us and we can’t do it without the help and support from kind people like yourselves.
Here are some examples of how your generous donation can help:
£60 – Could pay for 2 hours of world-class research. That’s 2 hours of progress. 2 hours closer to breakthroughs. And 2 hours closer to a world where everyone with breast cancer lives, and is supported to live well. Currently, there isn’t a cure for secondary breast cancer and this is one of the scariest realisations anyone who has had primary breast cancer has to deal with. LET’S FIND A CURE!
£50 - Could can help pay an expert speakers at a BCN event. I attended a young woman breast cancer event in Liverpool which was amazing. Having breast cancer as a young woman not only affects your health but hugely impacts on your fertility, career, body imagine and mental health. Having a safe space to talk about these issues with people who understand is invaluable.
£40 – Could buy 1,000 tiny test tubes, allowing researchers to experiment with small samples. These test tubes hold volumes of around a quarter of a teaspoon. Researchers use them for different types of experiments. RESEARCH IS POWER 💪
£30 – Could buy a specialist nurses' time to support someone through the helpline. This is a life line when you are trying to understand your cancer diagnosis and a service I have found incredibly supportive.
This is why we need to come together to BEAT BREAST CANCER!
Tom and I are a brilliant team and we have realised we can get through anything life throws at us so, now it's time to tackle 42.2km!
We would be so grateful for any donations and for all your help and support :)
