Story
Back in 2010 my family and I lost our beautiful mum to Ovarian Cancer after a long and hard battle.
It was her wish to be able to stay at home as long as possible, a wish that was only possible because of wonderful people like the Marie Curie nurses.
I vowed then that I would do my best to help Marie Curie continue to help families like mine and every few years I take on a challenge that is going to push me outside my comfort zone and oh boy! This fits the bill!
I will have to learn to cross country ski, build a shelter and sleep the night in it, dig out a snowhole to stay, I think, at least 2 nights in... in February... in Raftlaven... in Finland
I will have no power, no internet, no hot running water and very little in creature comforts for at least 8 days .... and dads advice is don't eat the yellow snow!
If you find it possible to sponsor me in my endeavour, I and families that are going through the most difficult and emotional of times will really appreciate the support you are giving to Marie Curie and helping them in turn to assist people in their darkest hour.
Join or support the epic group taking on Arctic Circle Survival Expedition for Marie Curie 2025!
Marie Curie are there to support people through all aspects of dying, death and bereavement and to fight for a society where everyone gets to have the best experience possible at the end of their lives.
