Story

Carolyn was diagnosed with a devastating brain tumour Christmas 2019, she sadly died six months later. Although brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer... just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease.

During her illness we relied a lot on information shared by Brain Tumour Research to walk us through the journey - they are the only national charity dedicated to funding long-term, sustainable research in the UK.

Lauren (Carolyn's daughter) and her husband Jan will be competing in a CrossFit event in memory of her Mum. The HYROx event combines strength training, high intensity training and endurance training. the vent consists of 8km of running split into 1km runs, and in between each run are functional workout stations, repeated 8 times. A very hard event even for the super fit!

Lorna (Carolyn's sister) Tilly, Flo and Kaleb (Nieces and nephew) will be walking the South West Coast Path in October over the course of 5 days. Carolyn always loved the sea and it seems a fitting tribute to walk in her memory.

We are joining together to reach our target of £5480 - this will fund 2 days of invaluable research - obviously if we raise more... even better!
