Hi everyone. As I’m sure most of you will already know, Hudson was born 7weeks early at only 33weeks gestation. He was cared for and very well looked after by the incredible team in the Oliver Fisher Neonatal Unit for the first two weeks of his life.

I personally went through a very hard and gruelling time myself during my pregnancy and birth of Hudson due to having placenta percreta. Instead of the birth happening when it was planned at 35weeks, unfortunately the worse did happen, I haemorrhaged at home at 3am and was blue lighted to Medway hospital, where I was put on immediate bed rest and given blood transfusions.

At what was one of the scariest moments in my life, we were made to feel very comfortable and very well looked after by the different teams at Medway hospital. One in particular being Oliver fisher for Hudson’s care.

It’s not easy not having your baby by your side and having to leave them in the hospital and go home without them. But we felt at ease with leaving Hudson in NICU because we could see how well cared for and looked after he was. The staff in the neonatal unit not only looked after the babies, but they genuinely cared for us parents too.

I’ve wanted to do something to give back to the Oliver fisher neonatal unit ever since then (almost 3 years ago now!) I’ve just never know what to do or where to start. Then one day this opportunity appeared on my Instagram newsfeed. I had to jump on board!

On the 17th September I will be doing a free fall Abseil which is 80metres above ground! It’s the UK’S highest sculpture that you can abseil down 🙈 I’m nervous but excited to be doing it
