Parkinson’s is the fastest growing neurological condition in the world, in the UK alone there are 153,000 people living with the symptoms and there is no cure - not yet. People living with this dreadful illness suffer chronic pain and stiffness, tremors, slowness of movement and problems with memory and thinking - this affects every aspect of life often leading to mental health problems including depression.

Parkinson’s has affected the very heart of my family which is why I decided that it is the charity that I would like to raise money for.

This year I am running the London marathon - I am not even beginning to kid myself that my time will be fast - but I will finish - I had to defer the place from last year due to injury - so its slow and steady for me this year. Then in June I am planning to do the 100Km ultra challenge in the hills of the Cotswolds - two marathons in two days … only this one is walking - there is no chance I could run those hills!!
