Story
As a person who does not travel by aeroplane this is a massive challenge for me but is nothing compared to the challenges that a person with sight loss has to face every single day. I am proud and feel privileged to be a Guide Dog Puppy Raiser and I am determined to help this amazing Charity by joining our Puppy Raising Crazy Gang in doing a SKYDIVE. It's a far cry from my usual fundraising crafting activities!
What a way to celebrate my 70th year!
Our aim as a group of 'crazy' people who are all connected with Guide Dogs in one way or another is to challenge ourselves to do something way out of our comfort zone.
Almost two million people in the UK are living with sight loss that has a significant impact on their daily lives. Of those, around 180,000 rarely leave their homes alone and lead lonely, isolated lives.
Guide Dogs works for a world where people with sight loss are never left out of life, for a world where being blind or partially sighted is not what defines you. A world with enough support to make the challenges of sight loss no barrier to fulfilling hopes and dreams.
