MY BIGGEST CHALLENGE YET.... THE LONDON MARATHON 2024!!!!!
I've Joined the Muscular Dystrophy team in support of Succeeding for Sandra which is a family fund set up by my friend Nikita and her sisters. Nikita's Mum (Sandra) and sister (Alannah) both were diagnosed with Facioscapulohumeral Muscular Dystrophy (FSHD) and sadly in 2017 at the age of 51 Sandra passed away so Succeeding for Sandra was set up in her memory to help fund research into all types of MD and so that they can help fund equipment that will benefit Alannah when needed. Alannah was diagnosed at 14 years old and has spent the past 14 years fighting everyday just to do things that we class as normal (walking/standing). I have followed and supported their journey from the start which is why I have decided to take part in the London Marathon 2024 while challenging myself but importantly raising money for Muscular Dystrophy UK in the hope that one day they can find a cure.
Muscular Dystrophy UK is the charity for the 110,000 children and adults living with muscle-wasting conditions in the UK. There's currently no cure, and it many cases, it limits lives. MDUK do vital work in funding pioneering research into treatments and cures as well as providing vital information, advice, resources and support for individuals and families living with these conditions. The charity now provides support for more than 60 different muscle-wasting conditions, as well as funding many key research developments.
All donations, big or small, are greatly appreciated. Thank you!
