Story
I am both delighted and terrified to be given the incredible opportunity to run the London Marathon 2024 for Macmillan Cancer Support. Running doesn't come naturally to me and so this will be a significant challenge to say the least.
The statistic 1 in 2 will be one of the driving forces pushing me through those hard training sessions. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, meaning it's extremely likely that most of us will be personally affected by cancer at some point throughout our lives. Macmillan Cancer Support provides those affected by cancer with the support and the resources that they may need during difficult times. For me personally, this charity holds a dear place in my heart as both my Granny and Granny P were cared for by Macmillan in their final months battling cancer. Without the help and support of the team at Macmillan, my lasting memories of them would not be so special.
I cannot think of a greater cause that I would want to raise money for (or to run 26.2 miles for!) than Macmillan and I would love to reach my fundraising target. Any donations are extremely appreciated and all help toward raising money for this incredible charity.
Thank you !
Meg
