We are Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. We stop at nothing to help give seriously ill children childhoods that are fuller, funner and longer. Because we believe no childhood should be lost to illness.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In January 2021 our son Charlie had an enlarged testicle and was kept in our local hospital. He was later transferred to Great Ormond Street Children's hospital for what we later found out was Cancer.

All of this was going on during the pandemic and GOSH even allowed us two parents to be at the hospital with Charlie, which at the time was against Covid-19 protocol.

When welcoming us to the ward GOSH had a porter bring a "supply drop" for Charlie and Mum (Nicola). In the supply drop cases were toys and pyjamas etc for Charlie and beauty products and pyjamas etc for Mum.

Charlie was diagnosed as having a Germ cell Tumour in his testicle and the procedure was going to be surgery, as there was to be no affect on Charlie reproducing when he was older and it was the quickest and easiest process for Charlie.

The aftercare after Charlie's surgery there was nothing short of amazing. We had regular visits and check ups over three years and to be fair Charlie improved every time we visited.

I cannot thank or do enough for this hospital after what they done for my son and our family. BUT I'M GONNA TRY AND DO SOMETHING!!

So I am going to start by doing the London - Brighton cycle ride in September on behalf of GOSH and hope to raise some money to try to help others who may be in the same boat my family once were or even worse.

This hospital is AMAZING and heaven forbid you'd need it but please consider donating what little you can, as i can tell you from our experience, had we not had GOSH then who knows what could have happened to my Charlie.

I've added a few photos from our time at the hospital in the gallery.

Thank you!
