Logistic Support Flight at RAF Honington are raising money in memory of a very dear colleague we lost in 2023, to support Men's Mental Health.

It is reported mental health outcomes for men and women are not equal. The societal expectations of masculinity, means men are less likely to talk about their feelings and suffer in silence.

Current Statistics report the following:

> 36% of all NHS referrals for psychological therapies are for men.

> 52% of men would be concerned about taking time off work, whilst the remaining 46% would be ashamed or embarrassed to tell their employer (Men's Health Forum).

> Suicide is the leading cause of death for men under the age of 50 in the UK (Calm Zone).

> 75% of deaths by suicide are males, meaning men are three times more likely to die by suicide than women.

Logistic Support Flight will be completing a total of 33 miles of the peri-track which amounts to the age AS1 Bailey would of been this year.

In order to create a bit competition, those taking part will be split into three teams in order to see who can complete there 11 miles in the fastest time.

By conducting this event, we are hoping it will help remove the stigma attached to men reaching out and raise further awareness of this important cause. Most importantly we hope it will encourage those who are struggling to seek support.
