'This year, we’ll be hosting a Five-a-Side fundraised for the HL Foundation.

We’d love you to sign up, the more the merrier and all experience levels are welcomed.

Date: 9 December: 3:30 – 6:30pm (Using your volunteer hours to take time off until 5:30)

Venue: Imperial Sports Ground Bristol – West Town Lane, Bristol, BS14 9EA

Entrance Fee: Min £20 contribution (to cover cost of pitch rental etc).

Sign Up: You are able to enter as an individual and you will be assigned to a team on the day, or if you have a team of 5, then you are able to sign up as a team. Please indicate on the sign up form whether you are signing up as an individual or signing up as a team of 5 (and list the other team mates if signing up as a 5).

Using your volunteer hours: You get 15 hours of free volunteering hours each year and as this event’s fundraising for the HL Foundation you can use them. You simply need to check you can have the time off with your manager and then book the time off in Workday like any other holiday.

Equipment: Participants will be required to bring suitable footwear and sporting clothing. The surface will be 4G artificial grass so astro turf boots/trainers, moulds or firm ground boots to be worn. Imperial Sports have requested that players refrain from wearing metal studs or “blades”. Footballs will be provided by Imperial Sports Ground as will the referees.

Food and Drink: Please feel free to bring your own food / drink, but Imperial have confirmed they have a fully licensed bar and café on the premises that serves burgers, pizzas, and typical bar snacks. Imperial politely asks that no alcohol is brought onto the premises.

Format: The final format will depend upon the number of sign-ups but generally, there will be round robin style groups made up of two groups whereby each team will play at least 1 game against every other team in the group. The winners and runners up of each group will then progress into a semi-final and subsequently, a 3rd place play-off and Final. Matches will be at least 20 minutes long.
