Story

In August of 2022 our lives as we knew it changed. My youngest brother, Harri Hughes was involved in a car accident and sustained life changing injuries. In honour of Harri’s strength and determination, I am running in the 2025 London Marathon on behalf of Spinal Research UK.

Seeing my brother in such pain was incredibly difficult and being unable to help hurt even more. This is an immense challenge but nothing will compare to the challenges Harri and our family face daily.

The ethos of Spinal Research is to aid the independence, spontaneity and quality of life for people living with paralysis.

On a personal note it will be a huge challenge for me, but one I’m definitely looking forward to. It will be a huge honour to be part of the Spinal Research team.

Haz, I am so proud of you,

Lloyd. 🏃 💪🏼
