Story
The RNLI's mission is to save lives at sea, and our goal is to stop drowning. We do this through water safety education, operating search and rescue lifeboats and operating beach lifeguards.
Llandudno Lifeboat Station was established in 1861. Today, its Shannon class all-weather and D class inshore lifeboat undertake a wide range of rescues with crew members responding swiftly when the pagers sound to notify that someone has run into difficulty at sea.
The average lifeboat station in Wales, North West England and the Isle of Man costs £155,000 to run. We are asking all our friends and communities to donate what they can to keep us running.
From Silloth around the coast to Penarth and across the water on the Isle of Man, we will always be there to keep you and your loved ones safe, on our watch, there will be no preventable deaths on our coasts. Please help us fulfil that mission.
