Story
I am running in the New York City Marathon this November. This will be my first ever marathon! I wrote a bit about why I chose to do this!
I have expressed my passion for healthcare and caring for others the past 4 years in my journey of nursing school. This past May I graduated from Saint Louis University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing and a concentration on interprofessional education. My time at SLU I have learned how to be a nurse and care for the whole person.
In August I'm so excited to start my nursing career at Northwestern in Chicago with the opportunity to work on an adult acute care unit. I feel honored to give back to the community where I grew up.
I choose to fundraise for Hospital For Special Surgery because it is an academic medical center and research institution in New York City. HHS focuses on quality patient care and improve mobility with their attention to orthopedics being the #1 hospital in the US for orthopedics.
HSS is proud to be an official charity partner for the 2024 TCS New York City Marathon taking place on Sunday, November 3.
We have an incredible group of runners on Team HSS this year, training and fundraising for HSS. The funds raised through this effort will ensure HSS can continue to provide world-class musculoskeletal care and help patients get back to what they need and love to do better than any other place in the world.
