Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Our daughter Cecilia was diagnosed with 3 holes in her heart at birth (PDA, ASD and VSD) and had the PDA closed via a catheter procedure at Royal Brompton Hospital. Unfortunately she suffered a brain bleed that led to hydrocephalus and she was rushed across London by ambulance to GOSH where, the next day, she underwent a lifesaving brain surgery. Cecilia has remained under the care of Royal Brompton for her heart condition since then and will soon be undergoing open-heart surgery to fix a complication caused by the VSD, and to close the hole itself.
Brompton Fountain supports the treatment and care of seriously ill children at Royal Brompton Hospital. The charity works closely with the hospital paediatric teams and provides a wide range of vital resources and services as well as funding medical equipment and improvements to the hospital facilities. Cecilia, along with countless other children, has benefited from the work of the Brompton Fountain, and all do to support families of heart warriors! We are proud to be raising money again for this great cause and to be running the Royal Parks Half Marathon again.
