I’m joining a team to do a 24 hour outdoor swim to raise money for Level Water, who provide swimming lessons for children with disabilities.

Swimming outdoors is something that keeps me sane, especially over the last couple of years, while Jens was struggling with illness, and again since his death. It’s a joy that Jens also shared, and we spent our last holiday together swimming in Pembrokeshire. I decided to join this team of adventurous women to do the 24 hour swim, because l wanted something positive to focus on this year, a challenge to prepare for, and, not least, to have a fun weekend to look forward to!

I know it’s going to be a challenge, especially in the early hours, but l’m looking forward to being part of this supportive team, and hope it will also give some children the chance to experience the joy that swimming gives me, and also gave Jens throughout his life.
