Sue Lambert Trust - Inflatable 5k 2024

Inflatable 5k Norwich · 12 October 2024 ·
Hello Everyone,
My name is Lizzie, and I am honoured to share my story with you today. I am raising money for the Sue Lambert Trust, a remarkable charity that supports individuals who have experienced sexual and domestic abuse and violence.
During my teenage years, I endured significant trauma. The scars of these experiences were profound and long-lasting, affecting every aspect of my life. I felt isolated, broken, and unsure of how to move forward. That was until I discovered the Sue Lambert Trust.
The support and care I received from the Sue Lambert Trust were nothing short of miraculous. Their compassionate team helped me navigate the complex emotions and challenges that followed my trauma. Through their counselling and support services, I was able to rebuild my life, regain my confidence, and find hope for the future. They gave me the tools and strength I needed to move past my trauma and start anew.
As a testament to the support I've received, I am now studying for a law degree, something I never thought possible before my journey with Sue Lambert Trust. This has been a huge step in my healing process and my path to helping others who have faced similar challenges.
To give back to this incredible organisation, I have decided to participate in an inflatable 5k event. Due to medical conditions which affect my mobility, I am unable to run, but I am determined to walk and bounce the entire course, no matter how long this takes. My best friend, Tamara, will be joining me on this journey. Having her by my side means the world to me, as she has been a constant source of support throughout my recovery.
When I saw that the Sue Lambert Trust were looking for people to raise money, I knew I had to help. After everything they have given to me and countless others, I felt compelled to contribute in any way I could.
I am reaching out to you, my friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers to support me in this endeavour. Your donation, no matter the size, will make a significant difference. It will enable the Sue Lambert Trust to continue providing its life-changing services to those in need.
Over 250 people access their support weekly, and there is always a waiting list and, sadly, a huge demand for their support. By donating to their charity, they have a vision to grow in size and aim to support more people, sooner. For example, every £50 raised could provide someone with a counselling session.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read my story and for your generous support.
With gratitude,
Lizzie
UPDATE SEPTEMBER 24:
My GP has told me that I am not to exercise at the moment. My tarsal coalition is bad, and walking is a challenge at the moment... I await surgery. This sadly means that I am unable to run this 5k.
John, my incredible and supportive husband, has offered to run the 5k on my behalf. John is not one for running. However, he has seen the impact the services provided by Sue Lambert Trust have, and he is keen to give back to them.
I will be there from the sidelines beaming with pride and cheering on my wonderful husband and best friend, Tam, who are fundraising for Sue Lambert Trust after supporting me through my trauma therapy. Please consider donating to these amazing people doing amazing things for an amazing charity. Time is running out for donations, and we would be incredibly grateful for any donations!
