Story
On 14th September, I’ll be swimming 1.2 miles, cycling 56 miles, and running 13.1 miles – all back-to-back. Yes, I know you probably already know!
I’m doing it to raise funds for Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance 🚁 – who do heroic work saving lives and deserve every penny of your support! These incredible people save lives every day – fast, fearless, and flying in when it matters most. They rely heavily on public support, and I want to help keep them in the air (because, unlike me, they're good at going fast).
Why am I doing this?
To prove that girls are players too? Possibly. Poor decision-making? Definitely. But mostly, I wanted to do something challenging and enjoyable to raise money for an amazing charity that’s there for people on their very worst days.
Huge thanks – and a few gears to go!
This hasn’t been a solo mission – far from it. From group rides and training swims to pep talks, route advice and well-timed snack deliveries, I’ve been lifted every step (pedal stroke?) of the way by an amazing bunch of humans.
To everyone who’s supported me so far: THANK YOU. Whether you’ve helped me train, donated, or just listened politely while I went on about being dropped on group cycles or my slow swim time– you’re a hero.
Also, a special shout-out to:
• Everyone who’s waited patiently while I puffed up a hill (100% in the red)
• Those who pretended to care about my bike stats on Strava
• Told me that I look cool in my cycling shades (because I do…right??)
• Or just turned up and made training feel like fun…you know who you are!
You’ve helped keep the wheels turning – literally. That said… you’re not freewheeling to the finish just yet. I’ve got just over a month of training left, and I’ll need all the support I can get. So please keep the encouragement coming – emotional, training or carb-based, I’m not fussy.
How you can help
Please donate whatever you can – every little makes a difference. It all goes toward keeping the air ambulance flying high, and me (hopefully) still swimming, pedalling and running!
Thanks for the laughs, the love, and the unconditional support. See you at the finish line – with a huge smile on my face 💛🚁
