We support Addenbrooke's and the Rosie to change patients' lives.

Story

On 24th September 2023, I broke my neck. The team at Addenbrookes Hospital saved my life. Looked after me during my 4 week stay. And in 2024 removed a huge cyst from my neck as well.

So, to say ‘Thank you’, I have decided to use my deferred ballot place for the London Marathon to raise money for the Addenbrookes Charitable Trust.

We all know that the NHS is completely overstretched and woefully underfunded. Of course, I knew this before my accident. But I only really came to understand what this meant during my 4 week stay at Addenbrookes.

The Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust is the only registered charity dedicated to supporting innovation in patient care across Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. It seeks to improve what the hospital can offer by supplementing government funding. It shouldn't be necessary but it is.

Thanks to the immensely generous support of our donors, Addenbrooke’s and the Rosie hospitals can provide a level of patient care beyond that which can be delivered by NHS funding alone and make projects happen sooner or to a greater degree than might have otherwise been possible.

Charitable donations fund high-tech equipment, specialist staff, extra comforts and vital research to find potential cures and help save lives locally, nationally and worldwide.
