Thank you for visiting our just giving page.
We are going to be completing the Yorkshire Three Peak Challenge in September 2024 to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
Unfortunately, Molly’s dad, Ian, got diagnosed with Bowel Cancer in May 2023. Soon after he was diagnosed, Ian had various scans completed and they concluded that the cancer had spread to his liver and lung and also remained in his bowel. The doctor confirmed to Ian that this cancer was incurable and he would have around 2/3 years left. In June, Ian had a stoma bag fitted and he began his chemo to help stabilise the cancer and stop it from growing. This resulted in him losing some of his hair and rocking his bucket hats! Ian was initially meant to have 12 rounds of chemo however due to the side effects and him becoming worse, Ian was unable to complete the full 12 rounds.
In February 2024, Ian was referred to a private doctor in Basingstoke by the NHS. They carried out further scans as they were hopeful something might have changed and he could potentially be operated on. They confirmed that his cancer had spread and was bigger than his original diagnosis in May meaning that an operation was not an option.
Ian currently receives palliative care and he is looking into other treatments available but at present we are unsure of how long he has left.
Ian has received amazing care over the past year and we are raising money to show recognition for this and to help fund research to help other families. Any donation, big or small that anyone could make would be greatly appreciated by us.
Ian is a strong, loving legend and all of his family and friends are so so proud of him for everything he has fought and still fighting. We love you Ian!
Additionally, we are raising money for Cancer Research UK for Liz’s father in law who sadly passed away in November 2016 and Liz’s Gran who passed away in 2018 both from Cancer.
Love Molly and Liz x
