Story
Our awesome and dedicated team of volunteers will be heading to Uganda in July 2025! We will be transforming an empty field at a local school into a vibrant playground so that children can access a childhood!
To raise funds for this amazing initiative from October 2024 until my 22nd birthday at the end of April 2025, I will be running the equivalent of the South Downs way - an iconic 100 mile trail that starts in Winchesrer - the home of my sixth form college. I will be updating this page as the challenge progresses!
Your generous support will enable Play Action International to create a legacy of play within the local community where so that we can create an environment where children's development and well-being are supported and children are able to learn essential skills that will allow them to reach their potential. Join us in creating a legacy of play, laughter, growth, and endless possibilities.
Our playgrounds and play programmes bring about remarkable changes:
- 98% of schools report increase in pupil attendance.
- 74% of children give 'The Playground' as a reason to attend school.
- 83% of teachers report improvements in children's attention and behaviour in classes.
Donate to play a key role in supporting our fundraisers to ensure these amazing projects can happen, ensuring that every swing, slide, and moment of fun in the classroom contributes to a brighter future for disadvantaged children at school and in the wider community. We're incredibly grateful for your support!
LIV'S RUNNING LOG
October Total: 48 Miles. The highlight of this month was training and running the virtual Great South Run. This well-know race in Portsmouth was sadly cancelled this year due to Storm Ashley, so my Mum and I ran it virtually on sunny Bournemouth Promenade instead. The last 200 metres were the longest of my life! I'm looking forward to getting my medal and t-shirt!
November Total: This month is gonna be a lot harder now work has started in earnest! Managed to smash out ~20k.
