Story
I've been invited to take part in 'The Beast' in memory of Boe. Beautiful Boe. A dear family friend. Cara's bestie.
Boe became unwell in October last year and her health deteriorated very quickly. It turned out that she had a rare condition called pulmonary hypertension, and devastatingly, she lost her brave fight for life in November, age 12. Her loss is utterly heartbreaking and she is missed beyond words.
The Veitches hold precious memories of camping trips, sleepovers, long forest walks, dance shows in the kitchen, and of Boes heart of gold. She was popular, super smart and incredibly kind and caring, Boe was a very special friend to Cara, and she always looked out for Amy, too. She loved animals, especially her dogs, and her horse, Buster.
I will be joining some of her close riding friends in doing' 'The Beast for Boe', which will be a fun 10k obstacle course. The group feel Boe would approve of the event, and the charity they have chosen to donate to, in her memory.
Any donations received will be added to the group pot for Ronald McDonald House, Glasgow, who provided practical support to Clare and Rob, Boe's parents, and her amazing wee brother, Mac, at an extremely difficult time.
Ronald McDonald House Glasgow is a small independent Scottish charity (SC023199) that provides free ‘home away from home’ accommodation for families with seriously ill children in hospital. The house has all the amenities you would find at home, enabling families to rest and recuperate in a safe haven, very close to their child in hospital.
