On the evening of Saturday 20th July, I will be taking part in the Streets of London Night Walk, walking a 13.1-mile half-marathon distance route through central London. I am doing the walk in memory of my Uncle Peter who used to sing the song Streets of London (by Ralph McTell) and play the guitar - one of my fondest childhood memories. Since the song was first recorded in 1969 the homeless situation in London sadly seems to have got worse and worse.

Streets of London (registered charity 1155242) enables life-changing support for people who are homeless in the capital and raises awareness about homelessness. The charity funds amazing projects that offer vital immediate help to people who are sleeping rough, as well as longer-term support so that they can escape the streets for good. Using their knowledge of the sector, they target funding to projects where they know the money will make a real difference, so that homeless people have the support they need to get back on their feet and leave homelessness behind for good.
