On August 26th, 2023, I lost my best friend Derek suddenly while we were at the Glentress Mountain Bike Trail. Derek was raised in Belfast, so it was decided to take him home to rest. The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust handled everything. Their mission is to alleviate the financial burden on bereaved families by repatriating the bodies of loved ones who have died abroad in sudden or tragic circumstances back to Ireland. Their assistance was a tremendous help and relief to the family.

In 2015, Derek completed a mountain biking challenge for MacMillan Cancer Support in memory of his Auntie May. I now intend to complete the same challenge for The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust in memory of Derek.

I will complete the following four mountain bike trails over the course of four days: (Tito will be joining me on the first 3 trails)

• Wednesday, August 21st – Kirroughtree, Newton Stewart

• Thursday, August 22nd – Dalbeattie, Dumfries

• Friday, August 23rd – Whinlatter, Keswick

• Saturday, August 24th - Rostrevor, Northern Ireland
