Second Chance rescues healthy & treatable homeless cats & dogs & finds forever homes for them. Before adoption, they vaccinate, microchip, & spay/neuter every animal in their program!

Additionally, Second Chance places a special emphasis on heartworm-positive dogs. Heartworm disease is extremely prevalent in NC & too many heartworm-positive dogs are killed by this preventable disease, often because the price of treatment is simply too costly for folks to afford. Working with vets to procure this treatment at a discount, Second Chance makes a major impact on heartworm-positive pets.

Rescue & adoption are a reaction to animal homelessness, but Second Chance proactively fights homelessness through funding low-cost spay/neuter surgeries for hundreds more animals/year!
