My mum, Lindsey will be running the half marathon on the 6th April 2025 in aid of Gina who sadly, suddenly passed away last year due to the awful disease, Sepsis.
Gina was a beautiful, healthy and young 30 year old woman who had her whole life ahead of her until one day she suddenly fell seriously unwell. Having gone to the doctors feeling so poorly, she was sent away and within 5 days she sadly passed.
As she passed away, the sepsis had gone into all of her organs and completely took over her body and the life support machine had to be switched off.
This cruel disease has completely turned my lovely friends family completely upside down and has left a huge hole in everybody’s hearts who knew her.
Gina was an incredible young lady, who done so much for everyone around her. She truly touched everybody’s hearts who met her and as a family we want to raise awareness for this crawl disease so it can be prevented from ruining anyone else’s lives.
My mum is currently in training every week and would appreciate any little support you can give to raise awareness❤️ thank you.
Fundraising is at the heart of our fight against sepsis.
It raises awareness, and sparks the question: “What is sepsis? In this way, fundraising can help prevent thousands of deaths & unnecessary suffering through knowledge & awareness of the symptoms.
It also funds our vital support work, Public Awareness, Educating Health Professionals & helping people adjust to life after sepsis through accessing our Support Group network. We also lobby government to support our cause and makes vital changes in areas such as the NHS.
* Charities pay a small fee for our service. Find out how much it is and what we do for it.
