Story
On the 12th of May, I will be running the Leeds half marathon. This is a massive challenge that I have decided to take on to raise money for a charity called Survive. Fastback a couple of years ago I couldn't even finish a 5K and wanted to push myself physically and mentally. As my fitness is the highest it has ever been.
Survive is a charity that is very close to my heart. It offers specialist trauma-informed services to adults all around Yorkshire. It provides support to those who have suffered through sexual violence.
There are many survivors amongst us everyone has a different story. Unfortunately, our culture is designed to minimize pain and to fold it away so it can't affect anyone else. I would like to give back to a charity that helped me when I thought I was very much alone. Back in 2021, I suffered something that affected my life. So when I am running, I do it for all those people who need support but are too scared to speak out. I am a survivor myself.
The money raised will provide a specialist service and help victims return to normality. Please share so I can raise as much money as possible
