Story
For over 150 years, the Together Trust have been championing and caring for people with mental health issues, disabilities and complex health needs by providing life-changing support.
They see increasing demand for mental health support through the high number of referrals the Together Trust receives daily. Mental health is one of their campaigning priorities, and they continue to fight for change where it is needed in the mental health system.
WHY I'M RUNNING THE LONDON MARATHON
Mental health is a cause that's incredibly close to my heart. In our fast-paced world, the challenges of maintaining mental well-being are more prevalent than ever. Many individuals, including friends and loved ones, face these challenges on a daily basis. It's a cause that deserves attention, understanding, and support.
For me, running has become not just a physical activity, but a powerful tool to clear my mind and foster mental resilience. The rhythm of each step, the steady breaths, and the focus required all contribute to creating a mental sanctuary. It's my way of navigating the stresses of life and maintaining a healthy balance.
Now, I want to take this personal passion for running and turn it into something bigger. By participating in the London Marathon, I aim to not only challenge myself physically but also raise awareness and funds for Together Trust, an organisation that works tirelessly to support individuals dealing with mental health issues along with people with disabilities, autism and complex health needs.
Together Trust's commitment to providing essential services and a supportive community for those in need aligns perfectly with my belief in the importance of mental well-being. Every step I take during the marathon will be a stride towards a world where mental health is understood and supported.
I invite you to join me on this journey by supporting my fundraising efforts for Together Trust. Your contribution, big or small, will make a significant impact and help create positive change in the lives of those struggling with mental health challenges.
I understand that not everyone may be in a position to donate, but I would greatly appreciate it if you could share this message. Spreading the word is just as valuable, and together, we can reach more people and make a difference.
Thank you so much,
Lily xx
