Story
We are raising money for the 4th year for the neonatal unit at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary.
This ward goes above and beyond in helping our babies not only the babies born early but ones who need that little extra help after coming into this big magical world! We would like to raise money to help the ward in anyway we can for things such as equipment & training and anything else that would benifit the ward.
A total of our last 3 years fundraising we have raised a whopping £28,850! Last year's total was over £15,000, we hope to sail past that & beat that again this year! Our daughter was born 9 weeks premature in 2015 weighing only 3lb 4.2oz . The staff in these wards go above and beyond in not only helping our babies but us parents too because it's such a magical time yet so hard seeing only tiny little warriors fight through to start in life! These nurses are there chatting to us reassuring us everything is going to be okay, teaching us how to be in sometimes first time parents changing nappies, feeding these tiny little warriors at the same time doing everything they need to with our babies!
We also do this to spread a little Christmas spirit for all to see and enjoy! We spend months of preparing & planning taking up hundreds of hours organising to put this all together. We get alot of thrill and enjoyment seeing the communities come out to support & give what they can to such a special cause!
For those wondering or never have seen what we do, we decorate our tractors & lorries with all things christmasy to set off in a big parade from Lockerbie to dumfries and back round via Johnstone Bridge! Last year we had 255 tractors and lorries take part 🥳
Please visit our Facebook page for updates so you can if you wish to watch our huge illuminated Christmas tractor and truck run parade travel through the communities 🚜🎄🚚 https://www.facebook.com/ChristmasTractorTruckRunDGRINEONATAL
We ask that if you can, to give as much as you can to help our neonatal ward who are simply no other than angels in disguise helping our babies 🥺!
I would like to dedicate this to our mum who passed away on the 1st of July who was a dedicated mother, nana & team member to our babies who lived and breathed for her children & grandchildren. Our mother Carol loved raising money for neontal and was such a huge part in helping put all this together and will be massively missed by everyone!
Thank you in advance to anyone who donates big or small we appreciate your generosity!
