Story

Over the last three years the Lift Me Up weightlifting events have been incredibly successful with over £32,000 being raised collectively for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Each year there has been some amazing lifting, banging tunes and crazy facepainting. The events were so good that the competition is back again for 2024 and will be bigger and better than ever!

The background to this event is that in the run up to the Tokyo Olympic Games, Emily Muskett's Mum (Celia Godley) was diagnosed with MND and passed away 11 months later. MND is a fatal and rapidly progressing disease that affects the brain and spinal cord - it leaves people locked into a failing body, where they are unable to move, talk, swallow and eventually breathe.

By donating to this event, you are playing a vital part in raising funds for the MNDA who are undertaking as much research as possible to help fight against this awful illness.

We say it each year, and we move ever closer - one day, together, we WILL find a cure.
