Story
In November, Lianne and I found out that we were expecting another little Hubbard! At our 20 week scan, it was discovered that little Hubbard has a complicated congenital heart defect which may mean that they'll have surgery within the first few days/months of their life and extended stays in hospital.
The care that we have been given from the consultants, Doctors and Midwives at Frimley Park Hospital and the specialists at St Thomas' Hospital in Westminster has been second to none.
Because of this, George has decided he would like to raise money for Tiny Tickers. He has set himself the challenge of covering 100km over the next few months by cycling, canoeing and walking. At George's school, he does a daily mile so he will be putting these miles towards his total. George and I have a cycling and camping weekend booked in the New Forest where we will hope to cycle another 20 miles or so and there will be the odd canoe trip up and down the local canals and waterways.
During the May half term holiday, George will be walking and cycling around Centre Parcs, maybe we'll measure the water slides and add those to the totals!! To complete the intended mileage, we will be out on weekends, getting closer to our 100km target and having fun along the way.
George has taken a very keen interest in what he is being told, and despite this being a shock to the whole family, has had a very positive outlook. He very sweetly has said that he doesn't mind how long baby is in hospital for, just so long as they can come home. We're very proud of him and proud that he came up with the idea to do what he can to help raise funds for Tiny Tickers.
We will be keeping everyone up to date with updates through our social media and here. I'm sure George will have a thing or two to say as well!
