Story
Liam, Mike and colleagues are walking from Ipswich Town FC to Nottingham Forest FC to raise funds and awareness for Mesothelioma UK.
Liam was diagnosed with Mesothelioma in March 2017 after coming into contact with Asbestos whilst working in the roofing industry. As you all know, Asbestos has been a part of many construction trades and was banned in 1999 but unfortunately, still exists in older buildings and structures which unfortunately still means that workers are still coming in to contact with it, sometimes unknowingly.
We are doing this to raise awareness for the disease and to raise funds for the amazing charity that is Mesothelioma UK who rely solely on donations to fund nurses and to help patients and carers.
Mesothelioma UK is the national charity for anyone affected by mesothelioma, a preventable cancer caused by exposure to asbestos. They exist to support people with mesothelioma to live better and live longer and to prevent mesothelioma happening to future generations. They do this by advocating for better treatment and care, enhancing quality of life, supporting research and amplifying the patient’s voice.
