Story

We Are Coastal Odyssey: a mixed crew of ordinary people, setting out on an extraordinary Challenge

On the 9th June 2024, we will be on the start line of the World’s Toughest Rowing Race, about to embark on a 2000-mile circumnavigation of Great Britain as part of an extreme scientific and sporting initiative.

Setting off from London Tower Bridge, we will race clockwise around Great Britain, rowing non-stop and unsupported, whilst tackling the fast-changing wind and tide of the UK coastline. If successful we will make history as the first mixed team of six to complete GB Row Challenge.

This is an ultimate test of team endurance, strength and character, as well as an opportunity to contribute to new ocean research as we sample microplastics, noise pollution and species biodiversity.

Combining my previous learnings and love for training with likeminded people, I endeavour to take on GB row Challenge again this year to raise money for Surfers against sewage!

Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) is a charity set up in 1990 by people sick of seeing the ocean they love polluted. We campaign to protect the ocean and all it makes possible, by taking action on the ground that triggers change from the top. We're calling for an end to sewage and plastic pollution.
