Story
Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation (OVMRO), or Sefydliad Achub Mynydd Dyffryn Ogwen as they are known in the native Welsh language, is a voluntary mountain rescue team responding to incidents in the mountains and valleys surrounding the Ogwen Valley, Glyderau, and Carneddau mountain ranges and surrounding area in northern Snowdonia. They are on-call 24 hours a day, throughout the year.
Our colleague Brenda lost her son last year in a tragic accident.
The Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue helped Kieran on that awful day.
These guys are all unpaid volunteers who put there lives on the line. They are truly wonderful people who really care. They showed true dedication and compassion especially to Brenda and her family. The family know Kieran was looked after on that day along with his climbing partner Tom despite the horrendous weather conditions. They go above and beyond with their amazing work, making sure everyone is cared for on the mountain.
The Lewis Brownlee team are running the Great South run this year in memory of Kieran who many of us knew while he was growing up.
