It feels like another lifetime since I bid farewell to both my grandmothers, who were both taken by cancer.

Over the years since, my loved ones have since had their own battles with cancer. My auntie, breast cancer survivor, has inspired me with her strength throughout her ordeal during treatment. My father, having triumphed over two separate bouts of skin cancer through minor procedures, has fought it like a champ. Additionally, friends and colleagues within my circle have faced their own battles with cancer. Some emerged victorious, while others, despite valiant efforts, succumbed to its relentless grip.

Through it all, one thing remains certain: the importance of supporting organizations like Cancer Research Wales in their tireless efforts to eradicate this truly awful disease.

In honour to all who have fought and won, but also lost, I am running 4 10ks this year in honour of them and to all currently fighting cancer.

For me, this year isn't just about crossing finish lines or setting personal records. It's about weaving together the threads of love, loss, and resilience into each step I take on the pavement. It's about running with purpose, running with passion, and running for a cause close to my heart—Cancer Research Wales.

I will, as I have always done, be carrying the happy memories made and honouring all the lessons they have taught me in life.

But I cannot do this alone. I need your support, your encouragement, and your generosity. Together, we can make a difference. Together, we can turn pain into purpose, loss into legacy, and fear into hope.
