LES BIRTHDAY TRIATHLON CHALLENGE.
STORY
My name is Les Humphrey husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be celebrating his 84th birthday on the 26th October. A keen triathlete and past member of Team GB Age Group Team at European and World Events with bronze medals at both, someone who likes a challenge that pushes his age limitations to the maximun.Sadly my wife Margaret/Margarita to a lot of people has suffered from Parkinsons Disease for the past five years. In this period I have seen her health decline .Having taken her to various activity groups and socials run by the Bromley Branch Group I have seen the long term effect this illness has on people . This ia an illness for which there is no cure which attacks parts of the brain leading to physical and physchological damage.I therefore feel in some small way I would like to try and help these people by raising some monies for Parkinsons UK and the Bromley Branch, to research for a cure for this terrible illness.Last year I cycled a 100 miles on my indoor Smart Turbo Trainer. This year my challenge is to Swim 84 lengths of my local pool, Cycle 84K on my trainer in the garage and Run 8.4 K on my Treadmill [ 84 being my age on that day ] Approx , time 6 hours Any contributions no matter how small would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to you all.
Should you be in the vacinity of The Grove on that day please call in where my family will be happy to provide you wth tea/coffee/cakes
Banner/ balloons will be on display outside the house,
