On Friday 1st September I will zip slide across the Clyde to raise funds for FACE (Fighting Against Cancer Edinburgh), an NHS Lothian Charity Fund based at the Western General Hospital.. A fund close to my mum’s heart, FACE supports patients and their families affected by cancer. Over the years FACE has provided comfortable chairs for patients receiving chemotherapy, foldable wheelchairs to enable patients to take short trips in and out of the hospital, a supply of iPods for patients to listen to music while undergoing scans and funds to replenish a 'wedding box' for patients who are unable to leave the hospital for their big day and have their ceremony in the Western General.
