Story

Hello from me and thank you for visiting. Weldmar Hospice is a charity my family holds close to our hearts as they helped provide invaluable care to my late grandmother Daphne Brotherton at their centre in Dorchester during the final weeks of her battle with pancreatic cancer in 2018. Weldmar Hospice provides end of life care to thousands of people every year and I'm certain many of my friends will have had firsthand experience of their work. I have decided to attempt to raise some funds for Weldmar by challenging myself to complete the 'Way of the Gull', a 98 mile circular hike around the Isle of Man with my dog Lucy and any friends in the area that might like to join, from Saturday 17th to Thursday 22nd June. Giving me just 4 whole days (Sunday through Wednesday) to complete the route- roughly 25 miles a day! I shall upload some videos on my facebook page as we make progress. Any support would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read this, now let's see if we can smash the £1,000 target! ✌🏼&❤️

Weldmar Hospicecare needs to raise £26,000 a day to continue the specialist end of life care we provide in Dorset, both in the comfort of patient's own homes and at our IPU in Dorchester. 20% of our costs are met by the NHS, the rest comes from the generosity of our local community.
