Story
Hi i’m Leila, i’m 17 years old and have had long hair for as long as i can remember, having long hair has always made me feel more confident in myself and has always been one of my favourite features. Anyone who knows me, knows i take a lot of pride in my hair and have experimented with many colours from black and blonde to red and purple, my different hair colours express different periods of my life, and now I am ready for a new change, this time a big chop!
Currently, 1,635 children are diagnosed with cancer every year in the uk and this statistic is forever increasing. Consequently many children lose their hair while undergoing treatment which can knock their confidence massively.
The little princess trust works to help improve these children’s lives by giving them the opportunity to gain their confidence again, by providing them with wigs made from hair donations.
However, the little princess trust is solely a charitable organisation and the cost of making each singular wig is £550 therefore they rely on money donations to be able to make, distribute and fit the wigs.
My aim is to raise at least £1000 to go towards the making of these wigs to try and give children battling cancer the confidence they deserve and to help boost their self esteem!
