Story
In Nov 202 I had a biopsy on by breast after discovering a lump. The fear of finding out my lump could be cancerous, and having to have it investigated further, is something that will stick with me always.
I’m so lucky that it all turned out OK. I’m lucky that I was taken seriously. I’m lucky I got appointments and referrals quickly. I’m VERY lucky to have been able to carry on with life as usual after. Many aren’t so lucky, and unfortunately I realised that first hand.
On 2nd Jan 2024 my brave and brilliant Dad lost his battle with cancer, after getting diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic cancer in May 2023
Dad had taken part in many charity treks in his lifetime and finding out I got chosen for this one a week after his death, seemed meant to be somehow. Hopefully he will be with me on this one. 🕊️
This trek is my way of giving back and hopefully helping kick cancers big ol’ butt, or at the very least prevent at least one family from going through what we have been through.
