Story
Sunday 21 April 2024, I will be taking on the challenge of running the TCS London Marathon for ellenor in memory of my dear mum Linda and Grandad Cyril. My mum was a passionate woman who loved her family, a trait she had learnt from my grandad.
Back in 2019 they were both able to see me run my first ever marathon and I am so grateful they got to see me accomplish this.
Sadly, four months after the marathon, in August, my grandad died suddenly and three months after that in November, my mum sadly died at ellenor hospice of esophagus cancer.
My mum was cared for at home and, on the inpatient ward by such wonderful nurses who made her final weeks and days much more comfortable and relaxed.
Fast forward three years and my cousin Scott, at 31 years of age has been diagnosed with bowel cancel. This was a huge shock to us all and is a stark reminder that anything can happen. He has been living his life to the fullest and is a true inspiration to me. I am with you every step of the way Scott.
In 2019 I ran the marathon so my grandad and mum could see me accomplish the London Marathon as they had done many years before me. This time I, am running the marathon in their memory, to raise vital funds for ellenor so families like mine can continue to receive the care & compassion we did and, for Scott.
