Story
Now in my 60's I am running my first marathon with my two sons (Sam and Adam) to raise money for education facilities in Nepal, the poorest country in Asia. This will impact on the existing 400 children and generations beyond.
Children of Nepal deserve a better chance to achieve their potential. Education is key to breaking away from poverty and the traps set by agencies to exploit it. Agencies entice the vulnerable with the promise of a better life and money, only to find family members fighting on the frontlines or being used as cheap labour on global construction sites with no way back home.
The only way out of poverty and growth is Education. Nepal is seen to be making a huge difference with a new aspiration evident to escape the poverty that much of the population still endure. This project will expand this exceptional school, reducing class sizes and increasing the number of students. There is a huge potential to expand the existing structures and make a real difference to the quality of education available in Pokhara. The government supported the school to reconstruct 4 rooms but they need a further 4 rooms to make sufficient classes for the existing students.
