Story

BACKGROUND

Having previously suffered from a 15year eating disorder, depression and alcohol addiction, I've experienced some extremely challenging times and hit rock bottom.

However, in 2011 when I qualified as a Personal Trainer, fitness saved me and helped turn my life around.

Since then, I've become a multi-award winning Fitness Entrepreneur and represented Scotland at both European and World Championship level of obstacle course racing.

On the 13th May 2024, despite a fear of heights, exercise induced asthma, getting sick and against ALL odds:

I achieved a life long dream as well as completed my journey from rock bottom to the top of the world and became the 7th female from Scotland to successfully summit Mount Everest.

CHALLENGE

With an obsession of challenging myself, pushing limits and motivating & inspiring others, next June, I will be returning to the 'death zone' to take on the 2nd highest, the steepest and most dangerous mountain in the world - K2!! (8611m/28,251ft).

Also known as the 'savage mountain', 'killer mountain' and 'widow maker'.

If successful, according to research and available sources, I believe I will become the 1st Scot to ever achieve this!!

Not only will this be a major achievement in Scottish and women’s mountaineering history, but with a fear of heights and breathing issues triggered by intense exercise and cold temperatures, I'll have to overcome an indescribable amount of mental and physical obstacles in order to achieve my goal.

All whilst raising as much money as possible for Friends of Anchor and awareness of mental health issues.

As well as showing my son (Jaxon, age 6) and daughter (Léa, age 9) what you can achieve when you believe in yourself.

FRIENDS OF ANCHOR

Every penny of your donation will go towards Friends of Anchor's mission to support cancer and haematology patients in the North-east.

Over the last 25 years, the charity has funded millions to make that vision possible; investing in medical equipment, research and person-centred wellbeing that push the boundaries in how patients are diagnosed, treated and cared for.

Something I've experienced first hand.

A number of year ago, my Grandfather spent his last few days in palliative care at the Anchor Unit before taking his last breath. I was at his bedside the entire time and the staff were amazing. Raising money to further enable them to help more people is my way of saying thank you and something that I know my Grumpa would support and be proud of.

All of Friends of ANCHOR's overheads are covered by local company Balmoral Group, so you can rest assured that 100% of your donation will do great work!

My target is £8611.

£1 for every meter on K2 that I will have push through, endure and climb!

Please help me make this possible x
