Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In June, a small team of us will be taking part in St Wilfrid's Hospice Annual Moonlight Walk (The 'Walk Your Way' version of the event). Instead of travelling over to the mainland, we will walk the 10 miles of Alderney's beautiful Coastal Path which will take us around the perimeter of the island.

As some of you may know, in February of this year, my sister Lisa passed away. During her last six month, she was under the care of St Wilfrid's and spent her final week at their Hospice in Chichester.

It is difficult to put into words just what the Hospice meant to us all. Their team of staff and army of volunteers provided the most amazing care and support to Lisa, her family and her friends. The Hospice allowed us to spend quality time together as a family while they took care of all of her medical and care needs.

Our team name is 'Buddy's Buddies', inspired after Lisa's dog Buddy who recently came to live with me here in Alderney. He'll be joining us for the last leg of the walk!

Thank you for taking time to read my story. The Hospice only receives 17% of its costs via NHS and Government grants. The rest they have to find themselves, so any donation small or large will go a long way to helping St Wilfrid's continue their amazing and vital work.
