Story
Leathes Prior is proud to join the Amber’s Army team for Run Norwich 2024.
Amber Sheehy was first diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2019. She fought with incredible strength but sadly lost her battle with cancer in 2023, just an hour before her 9th birthday. In her memory, her parents Jon and Amanda Sheehy established the Amber's Army charity in 2023.
Amber's Army raises money to "Create Rainbows in the Darkest of Days" for Norfolk families with a child facing a terminal cancer diagnosis. The charity is dedicated to creating lasting memories and experiences for the entire family, not just the poorly child, and providing much-needed emotional support.
The Leathes Prior team is made up of Rhiannon Bond, Bethan Ingham, Craig Farr, Harry Farr, Sam Poulter, Ellie Davies, Steve Wilson, and Lily Beel.
One of our runners, Craig Farr, had the honour of being one of Amber’s football coaches. He shared, “Amber was an inspirational girl with a fierce determination to enjoy life. She was fun-loving and always brought her big, cheeky smile to training. She gave every session her all. I will always treasure the memory of Amber proudly wearing the captain's armband in one of the team's first matches.”
