As the only children’s hospice in the East Midlands, Rainbows cares for hundreds of families every year, who have a baby, child or young person with a serious or terminal illness, meaning their lives will be shorter than most. So when colleagues across Learn-AT’s nineteen schools were asked to put forward their suggestions for charity of the year, Rainbows was a clear winner and children, staff and families across our Trust have been taking part in a number of events to raise as much as we can for this worthwhile cause.

Rainbows also provide bereavement support for those affected by the loss of a loved one, and very sadly that support has been invaluable to one of our families recently, after the tragic sudden loss of a child at one of our Trust schools. The Learn-AT Run & Ride for Rainbows team will be honouring Hattie as they cycle the 140km between all of the Learn-AT schools and raising money for a charity that has been so valuable at this difficult time.
