2 and a half marathons in two days… with no previous history of ever running long distance before 🫣

🏃🏽‍♀️Taking place on 4-5 Nov 2023, Leanne Mills is taking on the Ultra X 110km Marathon. Camping under the stars and 2 days of desert running across south-central of Morocco.

Day 1: 60km / 37 miles

River's 10 week early arrival in Sri Lanka weighing just 3.5lbs resulted in serious health complications, including epilepsy, cerebral palsy and a grade 4 brain bleed. After defying the odds and flying back to England at two months old, she developed hydrocephalus and required a head shunt that she will live with forever.

River's life so far has involved several hospital admissions for breathing issues, shunt revisions, and pneumonia. Although she faces physical regressions due to developing cerebral palsy, River's determination shines through and day by day she shows us all how strong she is ✨.

Sadly, River's father passed away from a heart attack before he could share in the joy of her impending arrival. Due to River's complex needs, physical needs and continual appointments, River’s incredibly strong mother Sam (and my wonderful friend💕) is unable to work.

RiversWorld is a registered charity (No. 1164473) and every single penny donated will go straight towards ongoing physiotherapy, which is crucial before the age of two for River’s physical development, allowing her to work towards milestones like sitting, crawling, and walking, as well as specialist equipment eg. Lifts, chairs, walkers etc. The goal is for River & Sam to travel to Canada for an intensive course of DMI physio therapy (Dynamic Movement Intensive).
