Story
On the 25th September 2017, weighing 9lb 13oz, I delivered our son silently into this world.
William John Beazeley was born sleeping at 42 weeks gestation, something we never expected to happen, especially at the end of our perfect pregnancy.
Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity have been with us every step of the way, From the minute we found out our son had passed away inside of me, to the present day, over 6 years later.
That’s why we want to give something back.
On the 18th may 2024, me and my husband Matt are climbing mount Snowdon, starting the treck at midnight, we will leave the streetlights of Llanberis and walk into the darkness of the night, leaving a glowing trail up the mountain from our head torches with over 200 other climbers.
Sands exist to reduce the number of babies dying and to support anyone affected by the death of a baby, before during or after birth.
Currently in the uk, around 13 families a day suffer this heartbreak. That’s around 4500 babies a year. That’s why we want to give something back, to thank them for helping us, for continuing to be there for us, and for us to help other families going through the heartbreaking times that we’ve been through.
Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity, operates across the UK: supporting anyone affected by the death of a baby; working in partnership with health professionals to ensure that bereaved parents and families receive the best possible care; and promoting improvements in practice and funding research that could help to reduce the loss of babies’ lives.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for always being there for us and our family
