Story
I am incredibly privileged to be running the London Marathon in 2025 for the Hospice of the Good Shepherd.
The Hospice provides specialist palliative care for people in Cheshire, South Wirral and North Wales. As well as supporting its patients, the Hospice also provides unmatched support for their families, friends and carers, helping them through one of the hardest times of their lives.
The Hospice provides its services free of charge to its patients and costs over £5.1 million to run each year with just 20% of the funding it receives coming from statutory sources. The remaining 80% is raised from its fundraising activities and the generous support of those in our local community.
This charity and its goals mean a lot to me. I lost my incredible nan and close family friend a year ago, within the space of two months, and experienced the importance of having a strong support network in place at this extremely difficult time.
I am aiming to raise £2,500 so that I can help the Hospice to continue with its exceptional services!
Any donation can make a real difference and would be hugely appreciated.
Thank you,
Leah x
p.s. if anyone has any motivational running songs to get me through training (especially in the upcoming winter months) and the big day, please leave them in your comments!
