Story
Despite numerous attempts, I don't seem to have the facilities to grow a moustache, so as an alternative I'm running the Paris Marathon for Movember.
I am doing this in love and memory of Alfie and for all those who are fighting or have lost the battle with their mental health.
Alfie, it breaks my heart that you fought your demons alone. You were part of the family and there will always be an Alfie-shaped hole in our lives.You brought light and a smile to everyone around you and it hurts so much to think how you were suffering inside. You’d always laugh when I was heading out for a run, I wish you were here to call me crazy for how far I run these days.
Your loss is felt utterly and completely.
Movember works to support men's mental health and suicide prevention by providing support, safe spaces, and raising awareness of the importance of supporting men to reduce the rate of male suicide. Currently, 3 out of 4 suicides in the UK are by men.
Movemeber support and fund incredible projects such as FarmStrong, a project that focuses on the mental health of farmers with the recognition of the specific challenges faced by those in the farming community. Alfie I know you would have loved that.
No one should have to fight their demons alone.
